The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a immigration program that allows foreign workers with skilled work experience in Canada to apply for permanent residency. To be eligible for the CEC, an individual must have at least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. The skilled work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) level O, A, or B, TEER 0, 1, 2 and 3 occupations.
In addition to the work experience requirement, individuals must also meet the following criteria:

  • Have a valid work permit (or have recently held a valid work permit)
  • meet the minimum language level of:
    • Canadian Language Benchmark 7 for TEER 0 or TEER 1 jobs or
    • Canadian Language Benchmark 5 for TEER 2 or TEER 3 jobs
  • Plan to live outside the province of Quebec

If you meet these requirements, you may be able to apply for permanent residency through the CEC. The process for applying for the CEC involves submitting an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and completing a medical examination and security clearance, if required. It is important to note that the CEC is a competitive program and not all applicants will be approved.

An immigration consultant from stayincanada.com can help you in applying for the CEC by providing guidance on the application process and representing you before the government with the preparation and submission of the application. An immigration consultant can also provide information on other immigration options that may be available to individuals based on their specific circumstances.
